Two months ago, Yvonne Sears, Director of ISD Cyber, was announced as the winner of the Business Continuity Institute’s (BCI) Australasian Continuity and Resilience Consultant for 2018 and shortlisted for the global award.
Yvonne is attending the BCI’s World Conference in London and the awards will be announced at the Gala Dinner in approximately two days’ time. For Yvonne, being shortlisted is an honour and a culmination of her hard work, dedication and passion to the industry.
Yvonne has 18 years of “hands on” practical experience working with clients in Information Security, Business Continuity, Business Resilience and Privacy.
Whilst living that experience, Yvonne has raised two children with her husband Pete, worked full time, and somehow managed to study receiving both her Master’s in Information Security and Computer Crime, and a Master’s in Information Law (covering: Data Protection, Freedom of Information and Copyright Law) plus a myriad of professional certifications which include more recently the IAPP – Fellow of Information Privacy.
Yvonne has also found time to mentor and contributed at industry events as a speaker and contributed to several publications including ISACA’s Privacy book: “Implementing a Privacy Protection Program” (2017) and “Women in the Security Profession” (2016).
We want to congratulate Yvonne and wish her good luck for the event. Regardless of the outcome on the night, we are proud of you and think you are already a champion!
